Nancy wanted to get in a training ride before the Northstar XC races start next week, so she came out to Northstar after work and we rode a loop up to mid-mountain a couple of times.
Here she is on Ezy Rider.

It’s pollen season. Everthing is covered in yellow dust, and there’s yellow pollen clouds blowing down the street.

What do you do with the last little bit of waffle, especially after you forgot about it and it sat in the waffle iron for a week?

Driving home after a long 24 hours. I worked a graveyard shift last night, landscape work this morning and afternoon, and a swing shift this evening.
Yeesh.

Got in 17 holes after work. Played horribly. Why, why, why Lord have you forsaken me? I was playing so well yesterday, only to be cast upon this Jobean pile of dung, which—unfortunately for me—is in play.
Here I am butchering the 5th.

I was driving around during my graveyard shift and took a picture of the golf course waking up.
I got in 17 holes after work and played halfway decent for half of the holes. The other half were completely indecent.

Moving some heavy, green rounds to the back of the house.
You’ll see me wearing a day-glo green shirt a lot whenever I’m doing yard work because it’s too ugly to wear doing anything else.

We went up to Tahoe Donner for the last clients that needed to be unwrapped and have the water turned on. Neither took long, just a few irrigation repairs.
They still had snow in the yard.

We spent a few hours at a house in Sierra Meadows repairing damage caused by remodeling construction on the house. Here I’m repairing a line that had a bad joint.

We spent a half day at Donner Lake planting pots and doing some clean up. Nancy’s putting the pots together that go on the front porch.

I rode my bike home from Northstar after working a graveyard shift.
I try to do a little trail work every time through to make the rocky sections less of a pain, especially when riding in the dark.

Temperatures are starting to pick up. I think we’ll go straight from complaining about the snow to complaining about how hot it is.
I took Ryder for a quick run down to Martis Creek, so he could cool off and we could both get a workout.

Nancy turned on our irrigation today, very late this year due to a wet, cold May. Here she’s fixing a drip line.

We went out to Donner Lake to work at a couple of clients’ houses. We put in a couple of sprinklers at one house, and did a bunch of clean up work at another.
Nancy is trenching a line to put in some 3/4” PVC.

One of my co-workers broke her fibula at work, so I volunteered to cover her graveyard shifts for awhile. Nancy is also working graveyard, so we hit the links for nine holes first thing in the morning after we got off work.

I took Ryder for a run down to Martis Creek.
There’s a trail that splits off from the main trail and drops down to the creek. It makes a nice trail for a quick workout on foot or on a bike, because you get a steady 400’ uphill coming back.

Temps are finally getting up to normal. Nancy did some landscape work after her graveyard shift and just got home. Ryder is sticking his nose into everything, as usual.

Yep, it’s still snowing. We got an inch last night.
I think the earthquake in Japan flipped the earth’s hemispheres, so we’re actually moving into winter.
Temperatures are about 25° below normal, and it’s been cold and stormy most of May. However, things are supposed to warm up this week.

The bike park was supposed to open next Friday on the 10th, but it’s been postponed to the 17th. As you can see, a little bit of snow has to melt before that will happen.
We’ll see …

Yeah! We finally got in a day of golf. It was snowing on the crest, but the flurries never made it down to us.
Only the front nine is open; it’s opening was delayed a week due to continued snow. The back nine is scheduled to open in a week.
I shot a 53. Maybe one day I’ll learn how to swing a club.
